Updates!
Jeep-deal is done. $1,500 and it's mine all mine. Delivery this weekend by tow truck, since it doesn't run. My logic for that is "I can part it out and get my money back". I'll post pics after delivery and when I have a chance to figure out how to do it. I'll also be posting periodically on projects that I'm working on to fix/repair/upgrade the jeep. First projects include changing out ALL fluids and filters, probably the spark plugs and possibly everything under the distributor cap as well.
In-laws have finally got their RV back from the wreck it was involved in. For the record, it takes an incredibly long time to repair these stupid things.....almost exactly 5 months from the date of the accident!
Not too much to update at work. We are continuing to aggressively chase problems in the accounting software, rather than passively wait for someone to tell us how to fix, or that we need to fix. In addition, we are prototyping the sub-job functionality so we can see if this is something we really want to do.
Will also be signing the Salesforce.com agreement soon, so we can start that implementation project. Need to force our implementation consultants to cut their rates and get more reasonable.
Family is well, I was sick for the first time, so apparently the girls finally managed to come home with something I hadn't had yet. Actually, I'm still sick, but I'm gutting it out at work for the day.
That's all for the day

another update!?
Wow, bad weather in the old home town last night. Looked like a freakin hurricane went thru. Current speculation is that a mini tornado went right thru the oil center and that area, ripping down trees, power lines, roofs etc. My parents lost power for most of the day. Everybody is okay and that's the good news.
Rough day at work yesterday. Our good friends at ICE raided one of the job sites and busted 25 people. I have no problem with this, but the media frenzy surrounding it and some of the idiot commentary accompanying it irritates me. To be clear, I am personally against illegal immigration and also against all of the current amnesty programs floating around out there. That being said, I fail to see how it is the General Contractors responsibility that everyone on the job is legal. Only one of our employees was pulled in, and our paperwork for him indicates he is in fact legal. All of the others worked for subcontractos, and therein lies my irritation. We (as a company) have no control over the subs or their hiring practices. We have written into the subcontracts that they subs must follow the required hiring practices to prove that each employee is legal to work in the U.S.
Anyway, it just bugs me that we could be held responsible for something that we have no control over.
On a positive work note, I have approval to run with the salesforce.com project. Finally, just when I'd given up hope that a decision could be made in this company. I've called our contact at SF.com and I'm waiting on pricing. We'll revisit this issue later.
No update on my Jeep project. He called me, then I called him and I'm back in a waiting pattern. Hopefully, numb nuts checks his voice mail this weekend and picks up the phone. We'll see and I'll certainly update if he does. Hell, I may even post a picture if I can figure out how.
LSU baseball is going insane! Winners of 14 straight and pushing for #1 in the SEC West. We win one more, or Bama loses one and we're in. Won at Auburn last night and playing tonight and again tomorrow.
Perrilloux update: signed with Jacksonville State. Contrary to what it sounds, the school is in Alabama not Florida.
Last but certainly not least....I was screwing off the other night surfing the net and decided to visit the hometown paper for a sports update. After that, I said "WTF" and hit on the classifieds just to see what was percolating. Lo and behold, up pops a CFO job that pays about what I make now (if not a wee bit more) and it's only a couple of weeks old. After some soul searching, I talked with my hunny bunny and then decided to visit with the recruiter. After a 5 minute call with her, I sent my resume in this morning. Obviously, no word yet, but this is going to be interested. My original (longer term) plan was to stay here for another 2-5 years and then work to get more into the Gulf South, a little closer to home. I have no idea what I will tell the senior people here if this happens. I'm going to have to think about that......

what's going on?
happy mothers day (belated)....no time to post earlier.Got my wife sunglasses, she's happy so I'm happy. I'm a little pissed off at FTD. Ordered flowers for my mom on Friday and those ass-clowns canceled my order because they allegedly couldn't get it done. WELL IF YOU CAN'T GET IT DONE, DON'T TAKE THE F***** ORDER!!!
Okay, rant over for the moment. Still pissed about it though.
Where the heck is my rebate? I have plans for that money and I want it now! Seriously though, the numbnut with the Jeep I'm interested finally bothered to check his bleeping voice mail and I want my money.
If this one doesn't work out, I think I'm going to keep the Wrangler I have now and just start upgrading it.
Work:
No update on my previous post regarding possible fraud accusations. The person who posed the original question has been busy or out of town and we have not been able to get together.
Everything else seems to be going all right. March is done and we are finally going to be able to work on some of the other process and software improvements I've been wanting to work on.
Anyway, got to haul ass, so peace

hmmmm...work problems?
Well, yesterday the president comes to get me and we meet in my office. He has been on job tours with one of the VPs, and while they were discussing warranty and window repairs, the thought occurred to them that perhaps someone was stealing? I'm still a little fuzzy on how they got there, but that's a pretty serious accusation and I don't know where this is going to end up. Fortunately, it has nothing to do with me and my work, but this is still just hard to believe. IF it's true, this is going to rock this company to the core of it's being. I hope it's not and our guys are just doing stupid shit and not thinking about why they're spending money on projects that have been finished for over 2 years.
On a vaguely work related note, is the housing and construction market going into the proverbial crapper? I don't have reams of contacts across the country, but I know if you read the WSJ and various other magazines, it's worrisome. I know that in my neighborhood, there are 2 houses going up for auction soon. Both are 3,000 sf single family homes and the starting bid on each is $50,000. I'm seriously considering putting up a bid, if I can get someone to loan me the money. I'd probably only go in at the low end, 50 - 75K and then chicken out if it went above that. But, at that level, I could rent the house to someone for a year or 2 and then sell when the market recovered somewhat and theoretically make a pretty good profit. I promise you can't rebuild 3,000sf for $50K.
Back to a personal level.....no word from my guy with the jeep. I've called and left a couple of messages. If he keeps screwing with me, I'm just going to blow this off. It's too bad because for all the problems with the Jeep, I might have been interested if we could have reached an agreeable price. $2,000 was a little much in my opinion, but I tend to be pretty cheap when it come to these things.
Looking forward to playing a little golf this weekend. Not that I'm a good golfer, but I do enjoy it and it's a tournament so it's free (for me!)
Happy Mothers Day!! Tried to send Mom some flowers and we'll see if they get there in time. Hope they do, it would surprise the crap out of her.

weekend update
just like SNL! except not as amusing. Although to be honest, SNL has pretty much sucked for the last few years, at least in my opinion.
Going to check out a jeep tomorrow!! Finally stumbled into one listed @ $2,000 that isn't a total rust bucket. Of course, it doesn't run but hey, it can't be perfect, right? Hopefully, it turns over and maybe we can even get it to crank. Allegedly the fuel pump is the primary thing wrong on the engine, plus the clutch linkage is broke. This is a known weak spot on the fiberglass bodies (like this one has) and I'm a little concerned. But, still, I've been looking for a project and this could be it.
My baseball Tigers are on an absolute tear. Knocked off Ky for 3 straight this past weekend and looked pretty good doing it. Great pitching in game one of the DH on Sat (Fri was rained out), okay pitching and great hitting in game 2, and then in game 3 they had very average starting pitching, one bad reliever, one very good one and then another really good one. Add to this some timely hitting and BOOM!!! another win and all of a sudden we're moving on up in the standings.
In other momentous news, we kicked perrilloux off the football team. This has been beat to death all over the Internet already, but suffice it to say that Ryan is not the sharpest tool in the shed.
