back to work

on this blog, that is....off of my real job, which is just as well, because I'm tired of it for the moment.

So, more people visiting which is both good and bad. It's really great in fact, except for the fact that I seem to think I'm 20 again and keep staying up drinking beer until the early morning. That's fun until the golden children get up nice and early and then you are really paying for the night before. Still, it's a lot of fun and I guess the upset stomach is a small price to pay.

Jeep update: have actually made some progress on this beast. The underhood wiring (headlights, marker lights, turn signals etc..) is run, and run neatly. It's kind of a pain running it all along the one piece hood, especially since it's fiberglass and you have to run ground wires also. But it's just about done and once that's done I can move forward with finishing up the lights and getting the headlights put in. I moved the radiator back a little, but may have to move it another half inch or so.

I've checked all the dash wiring and everything is working except the wiper switch, which is apparently an intermittent switch. Unfortunately, I have the 3 wire non-intermittent motor.......

I got underneath and confirmed that it's a T-18 4 speed. Hopefully, it's the granny gear version, which will give me some excellent trading options once I get a little further along. I bought a new rod end clutch linkage, but it looks like I'm going to have to drop the tranny to get into the guts of this thing. In addition, I'm working on tires and I just bought a YJ power brake setup and some used seatbelts.

At work, I'm struggling along. Trying to get the 2010 forecasts done, then can work on one of the 500 other projects that are out there. Sort of stumbled into a potential new job opportunity. I'm waiting to see where that leads. May not go anywhere, but at least I'm taking a swing at it.

have I been away, but I'm back

Been pretty busy, and these updates will trickle out over the next few weeks I"m sure. This one is going to be short I think.....

Damn, but it's raining like hell

had visitors in town from my home town over the 4th of July weekend. Have to say a really good time was had by all. Went to the water park, beach, community pool, etc.

Got the taillights of the Jeep working. Still no turn signals, but I think it's the flasher.
