going on for 3 days before Christmas. So I guess, let's get going.....
Honey and the GCs are up at her parents house for Christmas, with me to tag along in a few days. Got call from her yesterday that the GCs are sick again. I don't know what the F$!# is going on, but it seems those poor girls get sick at the drop of a hat, and drop the hat themselves sometimes. I'm beginning to think it's environmental, but if that's true Honey and I should be sick more.
Worked on the Jeep yesterday for a while. Got the brake light switch changed out and removed one of the studs holding the exhaust downpipe on. The other one broke off, so it's off to Sears to get an easy-out to try and remove it. If not, I guess I'll have to drill it out and use a bolt through where the threads were. We'll see how it works. Got some under the hood wiring done also, but not finished. Need to pick up at least one new side marker light and drill the hood for the turn signal/front marker lights so the Jeep can be street legal. Also drove up to FM to pick up parts from a guy up there. Got a new wiper motor, rear view and seat slider for $30, which seems like a good deal to me. Tonight, if I can keep from getting sick, I want to try and finish up the under hood light wiring (turn signals, headlights, marker lights etc....)
On a side note, how the heck is it Christmas already? This year has flown by and I don't know where it went. Looking back, I still wonder if I made the correct decision in staying vs. moving back to Lft. Even if the co. was being sold, I could have worked for a while, then jumped to the distribution company that I interviewed with and potentially never missed a paycheck. Of course this is all 20/20 hindsight and I (we) made the decision based on the best information we had.
Financially, I guess we are going to join the rest of the country in trying to refinance. I'd love to save $200/month if I can. Also our van is paid for in January, so that payment is gone as well. I'm looking forward to trying to save a little money and be prepared if something bad happens.
I'm probably okay, as I stayed in this position for a reason, but it never hurts to be prepared and I want to have options if I need them. All of my bonus money is going into the savings account to be set aside and that leaves me enough to live on for a couple of months.
