about this blog. I just have been busy and haven't had time to post recently. A few things going on, some good, most neutral, nothing really bad for a change.
At work, things are quieting down some from all the excitement in February and early March. We are used to the president being gone, and I've noticed that for the most part questions are being directed to the proper people. Still not happy with the depth of disclosure that I've received from the new boss and wish he would get his thumb out of his ass and tell me what he wants me to do. If it's just stay in this position and run accounting, fine. I'm not overly excited by that, but fine. If he wants me to help evaluate acquisitions (as has been mentioned) or help run the overall accounting function, fine. If he wants to put me on the street, fine. Well that last one isn't actually fine, but I've trying to get prepared and it's as good as it's going to get.
Honey is taking the kids up to her parents in about 10 days or so. Bring on the dancing girls!!
Okay, probably not dancing girls, but it will be nice and quiet and I will enjoy it. I'll probably work on the jeep most of the time anyway, as I really want to make some progress and be close to done by the end of April. That is probably very optimistic, but got to set some kind of goal.

I saw a 900 foot Jesus
In Tulsa Oklahoma.....sorry, it's a saying from a friend of mine from the college days and every time I head out to Tulsa, I think of it. As you can tell, I'm off to Tulsa for the day Monday. Leave in about an hour for the airport.....
I'm not really looking forward to it, mostly because I don't think we are going to get a chance to make any decisions or really participate in the back office merger process. That's just my opinion, but so far it's proven pretty true. Everything is being run in Tulsa, which pretty much leaves us here in SW Fl out in the cold. If it were cold down here, which it's not.
A couple of quick updates on previous stuff...my leg is feeling better. Hoping to get runs in tonight and tomorrow in Tulsa before the race next weekend.
Got some (very little) work done on the jeep last weekend. Finally got the final main body mount put in. That just leaves the 2 rear ones, and the one by the clutch pivot that I can't put on until I relocate the clutch pivot anyway. I think once I get back, I'm going to have to carve out an evening to do some electrical work. I'm really close to being able to button up the dash.

Still here
Still employed this week, which after last weeks firing of our president is a good thing. I have to say that I can't afford to be unemployed, so this is a plus....
Been pretty busy with work last week. Worked until at least 6 every night, came in Saturday, etc. Still trying to get caught up from the delays incurred in the year end switch, but at least we are getting closer. The new boss if off skiing somewhere, so he is out of pocket and not bothering us. If I could keep my controller in the office, that would be a plus!
Pulled a calf muscle last week. First muscle pull I've had in quite a while, and it shut my running down for almost a week. The 5K is in just under 2 weeks, and I think I'm in for another 31 minute race. I was initially hoping to get a lot of running in and drop to less than 30, but doesn't look like it's going to happen.
Almost no progress on the Jeep last couple of weeks. Got the flat tire off, pumped it up and did some clean up on the frame while it was exposed. Also finally put in the last major body mount over the gas tank cross member. Still have some to install, but that's the ones on the rear crossmember that may not fit on this fiberglass body anyway....plus the one that is being blocked by the clutch pedal pivot hardware.
Markets have been getting pounded and all I can do is watch as my 401k takes a giant dump on any retirement plans I may have.
The job search has ground to a halt. The contracting company back in LA is still looking, but the outgoing part-time CFO is in no hurry. That actually works for me, as neither am I and a new and interesting possibility popped up today. I'll put up some 411 on that later if it looks like it might go somewhere.
My Tigers had a heck of a weekend...claimed the outright SEC basketball championship by beating Kentucky AT KENTUCKY, which they haven't done in 20 or so years. Swept UCF and outscored them in every game by 10 runs or so. The baseball team is 7-0 currently. Football team picked up 4 early commits, all look like solid players. Ladies b-ball closed out the season on a roll and ended up 2nd in the SEC, looking good for the SEC tournament and NCAA tourney as well.
