Still here

Still employed this week, which after last weeks firing of our president is a good thing. I have to say that I can't afford to be unemployed, so this is a plus....

Been pretty busy with work last week. Worked until at least 6 every night, came in Saturday, etc. Still trying to get caught up from the delays incurred in the year end switch, but at least we are getting closer. The new boss if off skiing somewhere, so he is out of pocket and not bothering us. If I could keep my controller in the office, that would be a plus!

Pulled a calf muscle last week. First muscle pull I've had in quite a while, and it shut my running down for almost a week. The 5K is in just under 2 weeks, and I think I'm in for another 31 minute race. I was initially hoping to get a lot of running in and drop to less than 30, but doesn't look like it's going to happen.

Almost no progress on the Jeep last couple of weeks. Got the flat tire off, pumped it up and did some clean up on the frame while it was exposed. Also finally put in the last major body mount over the gas tank cross member. Still have some to install, but that's the ones on the rear crossmember that may not fit on this fiberglass body anyway....plus the one that is being blocked by the clutch pedal pivot hardware.

Markets have been getting pounded and all I can do is watch as my 401k takes a giant dump on any retirement plans I may have.

The job search has ground to a halt. The contracting company back in LA is still looking, but the outgoing part-time CFO is in no hurry. That actually works for me, as neither am I and a new and interesting possibility popped up today. I'll put up some 411 on that later if it looks like it might go somewhere.

My Tigers had a heck of a weekend...claimed the outright SEC basketball championship by beating Kentucky AT KENTUCKY, which they haven't done in 20 or so years. Swept UCF and outscored them in every game by 10 runs or so. The baseball team is 7-0 currently. Football team picked up 4 early commits, all look like solid players. Ladies b-ball closed out the season on a roll and ended up 2nd in the SEC, looking good for the SEC tournament and NCAA tourney as well.

Later
