Putting the girls on the plane to VA this morning. Ahhhh, blessed quiet.
Should be a bunch of updates this week concerning the jeep project, as the plan is to work on it every evening and all weekend.
Over the 3 day weekend, got the spring main eye bushings out and got the springs mounted to the axle. Connected the shackle end, and was in the process of connecting the main eye end when it turned out that the bushings are about 1/2 an inch too wide to fit. So I guess I"m going to have to trim them using a grinder or hacksaw or something. Hopefully, that can get done either tonight or tomorrow night. Once that is done, plan is to fit the springs into the main eye end and be done with the rear axle. Then I need to start loosening everything on the front axle, get it out, replace it with the "new" axle and haul the old axles and the old springs off to the recycling yard.
