Dammit

So I've been conspicuosly absent from this blog for several months, and I'd like to apologize to anyone who gives a shit. I believe you are few and far between, but you have my apology. Now, onto other things...

Holy shit I was in a foul mood Sunday. Now to protect myself, let me first say that I'm generally in a  pretty good mood, so for me to be as pissy as I was is something in and of itself. So you may be asking yourself why was I so grouchy??? Well, it has to do with my ongoing sex life, or lack thereof.

My wife is the love of my life, and I couldn't do without her. But she really pissed me off sometimes. We went to a friends house Saturday night to view the LSU game, and have drinks. Before we left, I told my wife that I may need to have a few drinks and that I wanted her to lay off so she could drive home. Of course after a couple of hours, I realize that my darling is about 15 vodkas into the evening....enter the first pissoff of the night. So I finished my drink and stopped drinking so I could drive home.

Pissoff #2 entered my life after surviving the LSU game sans heart attack somehow. At this point I had resigned myself to driving and was ready to leave. It was 10-ish, and the kids needed to be run to bed, plus I figured that after 15 vodkas, I had a fighting chance of getting laid tonight (excitement!). After an hour and a half of hinting and finally starting to get slightly ugly, we left for home.

Pissoff #3, aka the major pissoff, entered after we got home. I was the recipient of several kisses (FUN ones), a couple of grabs and other indicators that suggested my wish of sex was going to come true. Suddenly, she had a change of heart, possibly hormone driven, and decided she was tired and needed to go to bed.

There is a lot of back story to this, like the summer spent mostly away from home for family surgeries and deaths in the family.  I freely admit these are all valid reasons. However, this does not change the fact that while she is gone, I'm not getting any. So since late June, I've gotten laid about 5 times, plus or minus a couple. People may disagree, but to me, this is not a lot.

For the future, my honey is having some problems with her girl parts, and is having a procedure performed in a few weeks that will leave her unable/unwilling to have sex for a minimum of 2-3 weeks in October. So if things go the way I expect, I'll continue to have nothing until she starts her period shortly, then as soon as that's over, the procedure will happen, which wipes out most of September and pretty much all of October. So for those of you keeping score, I'll be approximately 5 sexual encounters from mid-June through the end of October.

I'm overjoyed.

So, yeah, it was a slow May. For this blog I mean. In every other aspect of my life, it was a ridiculous May that I barely even remember. I don't know if a month has ever gone by faster...

So there has been a lot going on and we'll get right to it.

At work, we're still fucking around with the same acquisition. Still have not closed although we've at least moved closer. I'm really tired of negotiating and I wish the parent company would get their collective heads out of their asses.

At home, the golden children are out of school and enjoying their summer. Lots of camps and maybe even a vacation coming up. Not really sure what an honest to god vacation feels like anymore. Had a freakin' herd of women and girls (females?) in my house for Memorial Day. I was outnumbered 12-1.

Happy Festival

So, a good weekend all around, other than some drama with our friends that I'll touch on shortly.

Festival International here in Lafayette, and I think a good time was had by all. We had a babysitter for Friday and Saturday nights, so the adults actually got to go out and see bands and so forth without having to fight with the kids. Honestly, as crowded as it was, I would have taken the kids home. It was almost stupid, and I sort of felt bad for the younger kids fighting the crowd.

On to the drama portion of the weekend.....Friday night, my honey and my friends wife stayed up late talking. Not sure why she feels comfortable enough with my girl to talk so honestly, but she does. Anyway, it's beginning to look like the problems they are having are much more serious than anyone thought. Not sure they are going to make it, which sucks because they always seemed pretty strong, and we all get along well including the kids. Guess we'll have to wait and see what happens.

Finally

Finally, I got off my lazy ass and pulled up this blog. It's been nearly a month, and I'm morally certain than all of my interested and passionate readers (LOL) have been waiting with bated breath....

So, got the "GO" moment from the company we are trying to buy, and we are hip deep in shit right now, trying to get through our due diligence. We hope to be wrapped up and writing a big-ass check somewhere in mid to late May.

My Saints are still in a world of shit. I can live with the suspensions, but I wish they'd give us back the fucking draft picks. That stings...and we only have a few this year, so it hurts even worse. I think the idea of criminal charges is pretty fucking dumb though.

is it really March already?

I mean, damn. I've always heard that time flies when you're older, or having fun or some crap like that but this is ridiculous. I look around and GC #1 is already closing in on turning 9. Shit, but I'm getting old.

So we spring ahead this weekend. I'm actually sort of glad, this is the transition that doesn't fuck me up so I'm okay with it. Of course, everyone could just get their lazy asses up earlier if they wanted more daylight, but nooooooo, let's screw schedules up for everyone. And speaking of that, if this is being done an a national basis, then the ass clowns in Arizona and parts of Pennsylvania shouldn't be able to "opt out". Dickheads.

At work, still waiting on the "Go" moment for this company we are trying to buy. After getting our LOI back from their lawyers, I can't decide if they are being difficult, or their lawyer got a little off the reservation. I guess we'll find out here in the hopefully not too distant future.

Big trouble for my Saints, with the "BountyGate" thing going on. While I understand the outrage, I think it's a little overblown. I get that it's wrong and I don't want to make apologies. But, with that said, did anyone think that this type of crap didn't go on? Unfortunately, we got caught, and now will "pour encourager les autres", or be put on a cross and nailed to it.

Spring practice @ LSU. I hear they are looking good, but I just can't get the taste of "The debacle in the Dome" out of my mouth still. Fuckin' Alabama. I hate them with the fire of a thousand suns.

Happy Mardi Gras

So it's actually Ash Wednesday by the time this post goes up. So what? Did you really think I was going to submit a post from the float?

A good time was had by all riding on the float yesterday. Had a bunch of friends riding and I think all the "rookies" had a great time. Riding in the parade has always been my favorite thing about being in any Mardi Gras crew, and this is no different. May try to post some pictures later, not sure if I fee like it or not.

Few other things happening. During the monsoon-ish rains we had last weekend, my stupid skylight (the one I "fixed") started leaking again. Life is not good at the moment.

However, work on this potential new acquistion is going well and we are moving the LOI stage later this week or early next week. I'm so excited I'm about to explode.

Wednesday night?!

Seriously?

So, the LSU basketball with wins over Alabama and Ms. State has managed to put together a little winning streak. It's kind of freaking me out to be honest. I've gotten used to losing, so it's going to take some sustained winning to get me excited about LSU basketball again. Hopefully they will keep it up, because I want all the sports to do well.

So on to the Wed night topic, which was: reset the sex-o-meter. That's right, the rare midweek, wednesday win for the good guys. Don't know what the hell happened, but like most men, especially married men, I ask no questions and just gratefully accept the chance to get laid.

At work, things are heating up in our acquisition chase. Hope to move to a LOI in the next 7 days, and close within the next 60.

The long dark twilight of the off season

Wow. No football, baseball hasn't started yet, I just don't give a shit about the NBA, my LSU tigers are not good at basketball, hunting season is closed and I don't have a jeep project at the moment. What's a poor man to do if he doesn't want to deal with the previously blogged about home repair and maintenance projects?

Sex update: Yes, recently. Life is again good!

Went to New Orleans a couple of weeks ago, and somehow the trip turned into "The Hangover" towards the end of the night. I'm not saying someone actually put roofies in our drinks, but it sure got drunk out later that evening. We had people wandering the hotel crying, people with injuries, sleepness parts of evenings, passing out, pillows being thrown and all sorts of other goofiness.

Your friendly maintenance man

I was looking around my house the other day, and realized that I'm destined to become a maintenance man. I have enough projects to keep me busy for the rest of this year, and that's in addition to the normal maintenance like mowing the yard. Now I know it's just aimless bitching by a guy who is lucky enough to own his own home, but fuck it, it's my blog and I'll cry if I want to. amiright?

The golden children have been sick, and frankly it's getting old......really old. It's been a week and a half, and I'm ready for the little monkeys to get back to school. Hopefully tomorrow will be the first day that everyone is back to school.

This weekend is dinner and a movie night for my honey and I, and I'm looking forward to it. This is also my opportunity to reset the sex-o-meter. It's now been approximately a week and a half, which isn't too bad. We got busy on a Tuesday night, which actually felt sort of naughty somehow. I think I was getting conditioned to only getting laid over the weekends.

skylights

So yeah, skylights....brilliant design for lighting up a room or evil plan to build leaky roofs? At the moment I could go either way on this one. Think I mentioned before that one of my skylights started leaking the other day. I got up on the roof Sunday to take a look, and it ended up with me being on the roof half the day replacing the caulk both around the skylight box and around the skylight plastic. Only had to make one trip to get supplies, so I guess that's good?!  I also found out a tube of the black flashing caulk will only fix one of the overly large skylights I've been cursed/blessed with. So apparently, I need to find out who makes this crap and buy stock in the company because they are going to be getting a fair amount of my money over the next few weeks.

Had a weekend of duck hunting last weekend, which basically resulted in me getting to be out in the great outdoors without actually getting to shoot anything. Didn't realize we had all these ducks with graduate degrees in advanced hunter avoidance. Bastards.

Still nothing on the sex tracker. It has now been slighly over a week, which really isn't too bad, especially considering there it's a "bad time of the month", nudge nudge, wink wink, say no more....I'm not to the point of needing a girlfriend yet, but if I could get permissio to have one, it would be game on.

Well crap

That was probably the worst LSU game I've watched in a really, really long time. I don't know what the fuck happened here, if they were overconfident, or if Bama is really that good, but son of a bitch.

On the bright side, I did get laid last weekend, so the dry spell is over and we are starting the countdown over again. Set the counter at 4 days and I'll try to keep track as I go.

Just to top off my having to watch that abortion of a game, my roof is leaking a little at one of the skylights. Guess I'll have to forego duck hunting this weekend to get up there and try to fix it. Not sure exactly what the problem is, but my guesses are either some debris on the roof is backing up the water under the flashing, or the caulking around the skylight is wearing out. Shit!

Still in a dry spell….

So yeah, I guess the title does in fact say it all. Last night, my honey was asking me “are you in a bad mood or something”? In the interest of not picking a fight, I thought it best to not tell her I was sexually frustrated. Unfortunately, I am. I've also got a little bit of a cold, which is preventing me from burning off energy by walking/running. I'm hoping that will improve so I can get the fuck out of the house and burn off some frustration.

So other stuff going on as well. Work is busy, trying to figure out how to best use the new software at work. Got to get some of the reports customized to match how we want to do things. Setting our 2012 goals as well. New M&A/JV target in the picture, that will hopefully take off next week, then the PE guys come in for a couple of days.

Starting to get stressed out about the National Championship next Monday. Alabama is going to be a tough out, but if anyone can do it, the Tigers can. I’m just deathly afraid that we might lose, and let these ass clowns back into a championship. In my opinion, they really have no business being there, and it completely devalues the regular season game as well as the SEC championship that we won.

THe Golden Children are doing well. Somehow, my 8 year old is showing signs of puberty, which scares the ever-loving shit out of me. I'm not happy about this at all, she's got some buds on her chest, and is getting hormonal.at.8.

This sucks. 

For my personal goals, I want to organize my personal finances, finish some house projects, lose 5-10 pounds, and run a 10K. If I can convince myself it's a good idea, I may try to upgrade that to a half marathon.
