After the storm

Well, figuratively speaking anyway. Our friend Gustav was kind enough to blow right past us, and I appreciate that. Unfortunately, he kicked the crap out of my home state, but the family is well and little, if any, damage was sustained. Unfortunately, lined up after Gustav are Hanna, Ike and Josephine. For my purposes, and purposes of this blog, Hanna is a non-event. Ike however, could be a major event. I'll update that as it gets a little closer....

My football weekend:
Man, I was excited for the start of college football. LSU is on the tube and I'm fired up for a 4:00 game with drinks and kids at the sitters. Then, Gustav caused LSU to move the game to 11:00 (ET) to avoid the storm and give people a chance to get the hell out of Dodge. Well I can't bitch too loud about that.
Little sister evacuated to SWF from LA to avoid our friend. Unfortunately for here, she evaced directly into a biohazard unit (my house). My honey came down with a virus, and a real nasty one too, Friday night. So anyway, my football weekend is shto to hell, and I'm very annoyed. Ended up DVRing the game and finally got to finish watching it about 5 minutes before I was supposed to leave to pick up little sis from the airport.

On the other hand it was great to see her and we had a decent visit even with all the weather channel and CNN that was watched to see what Gustav was doing in the great state of Louisiana.

Now, thanks to Gustav hitting Baton Rouge directly, LSU's game vs. Troy is cancelled for today and the N. Texas game is in jeopardy thanks to Ike. I freaking hate hurricane season.....

I'd like to update my work on the Jeep, but I haven't done any. I did buy a new Jeep though, trading in the old wrangler for a new one. Now I just need a chance to take it out and get it muddy.

Turning 41 on Monday and somehow that just seems appropriate, turning 41 on f-ing Monday.......I have no excitement for this birthday. I really haven't asked for any presents. I'm thinking about getting a Tivo for the downstairs TV.
