Confusion and more confusion

I seem to have this innate ability to confuse myself....like I didn't have enough drama with the whole going to work for WHC thing recently. Now, I contacted another company with a job in LFT to see. I thought the pay was closer to what I am making now, but it turns out to be (base) about 30-35% lower. I mean I can still pay all the bills, but I hate being dependent on the results of the company to see how much my bonus would be. This is especially true in a declining, or what seems to be declining economy. People are talking about the Great Depression, v.2.0 and that worries me. Of course, I'm in the construction biz, which is a plus and a minus. On the minus side, you have to figure new construction work will go into the toilet if we hit a real recession or God forbid some sort of depression. On the plus side, using the original Great Depression as an example, you would think the government will throw some money at construction projecs to shore up the economy. One thing I know is we better be ready to move from buildings to civil/highway construction if needed....

I guess I'll see whats what this afternoon. I have a phone interview with the PE guys running the show for the job in LFT today. If that goes REALLY well, I'll continue on this path. Otherwise, I think I will politely bow out and hope they have a more lucrative opportunity down the road and they think of me when it happens.

Onto other, more cheery topics:
LSU - My tigers are playing N. Texas Sat night. Should be a blowout, and I'm not going to get into any detail because that's not my thing. There are too many other good sites and blogs out there that do that type of thing for me to add one more. All I can say is I hope that P.O.S. Comcast carries the game locally so I can watch it on Tigervision. I'm also hoping that LSU blows them out, mostly so our quarterbacks can get some reps and be ready for Auburn, at Auburn, next week.

Jeep - I have done dick on the Jeep this week and would prefer notto discuss at this point. All I can say is I have to kick myself in the butt this weekend and get a little work done.

Family - Honey is a little stressed out with my interview, but I think she assumes that nothing is going to happen. At least I hope that's what she assumes, since that's what I told/asked her to assume. Hopefully, she hasn't even mentioned it to any family or friends. GC #2 is being a f-ing brat and I hope she snaps out of it a little bit and soon. Seems like it's gotten significantly worse this last 2 weeks or so. I know she is in the "terrible twos" but give me a break.

Finally, and certainly not the least of my worries, my thoughts and prayers are with my friends, family and former co-workers on the Gulf Coast of Tx and La as they prepare for Ike. Good Luck and God Bless!!
